Near Record Breaking Rainfall

Rain has been the story all morning, and at points has been heavy across the Stateline. The rain will become more scattered in nature as we go throughout the afternoon and into the evening After that, we are looking at the potential for some mixed precipitation early Tuesday.

As of noon, much of the area has see at least .3" of rain. Galena has picked up nearly an inch of rain. The daily rainfall record for Rockford sits at .52" (1918), so we have a chance to break it.

Unless you want to get wet, you'll want the coat, umbrella and rain boots before heading out the door.

After the rain today, the blustery conditions will continue into the next few days. Expect wind gusts today, tomorrow and Wednesday to be upwards of 30-40mph. So hold onto your hats and umbrellas today. After the rain and wind, look for highs to only top out in the 20s and 30s late week with the chance for snow returning into the forecast Friday and Saturday.

Saturday was an absolutely perfect day across the Stateline. High temperatures Saturday ended up topping out in the upper 40s and lower 50s with abundant sunshine. Take a look at these beautiful sunset pictures that were sent in from this weekend.
