Record Rainfall Monday

Moderate, to at times heavy, rain came down much of Monday morning and afternoon.  This pushed rainfall totals over half an inch in many locations, almost up to an inch of rain in Galena.  Officially 0.53 inches of rain fell in Rockford, breaking the daily rainfall record for December 7th.  The previous record was 0.52 inches set back in 1918.

The rain is done this evening with skies staying partly to mostly cloudy.  A light rain/snow mix will be possible early Tuesday, but no accumulation is expected.
