Wild Wednesday: Snow Continues This Morning

Snow totals across the area, so far, range anywhere from 7.5" in Freeport and Janesville to Woodstock where they picked up 3.8" of snow.

10:45am RADAR UPDATE: Still looking at a band of snow stretching from Lee, Ogle, DeKalb, Boone, McHenry and Walworth Counties. Skies are starting to clear just off to the west, and we will turn partly cloudy later on today.

9:15am RADAR UPDATE: Snow is starting to taper off to our southwest. We will continue to see some snow throughout the rest of the morning hours, but should then  taper off for everyone as we approach the noon hour.

It's going to be a wild Wednesday, as snow is continuing to fall across the Stateline this morning. The snow will begin to taper off as we go into the early afternoon hours. Expect total accumulations to range from 4-6" in many locations. Slightly lesser amount off to the south and east, and higher amounts off to the north and west. Blustery conditions will continue today, tonight and into Thursday, as winds will gusts upwards of 30mph.

The Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories continue until noon this afternoon, so expect conditions to be treacherous this morning and into the early afternoon.

Satellite and radar shows some snow continuing to fall across the Stateline. Some of the darker blues are moderate to potentially heavy snow.

More snow off to our south and west, so expect the snow to continue into the morning hours before tapering off into the early afternoon.

Visibilities are greatly reduced, so take it slow as you head out the door this morning.
