Wind Advisory Tuesday

A Wind Advisory will go into effect for all of northern Illinois beginning at 9am Tuesday morning.  A series of cold fronts will move through the Midwest Monday evening through Tuesday afternoon, each one bringing down an even cooler air mass.

The arrival of the colder and denser air will also mean an increasing wind from the Northwest.  Winds will gust close to 25 mph early Tuesday, but increase 40-45mph during the afternoon.  This will push wind chills down into the 20s during the afternoon but then into the single digits by Wednesday morning.

Hold the steering wheel tight when driving Tuesday.  East/West roads will be hard to manage during the day, along with some North/South roads.
