Monday Evening Severe Weather Update

5:21 Update:

Severe Thunderstorm Warning continues for parts of Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Ogle and DeKalb counties until 5:45pm. 










Current Radar Check: A line of very strong storms continues to move east at 65 mph with severe thunderstorm warnings for Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Ogle, Lee and DeKalb counties.  Wind gusts to 70-80 mph will be possible with this line as it track into Rochelle, Creston, Malta, Sandwich, DeKalb and Sycamore.  If in the path of this storm make sure you seek shelter indoors and away from windows.  This storm has had a history of producing significant wind damage and even tornadoes.

A Tornado Warning has been issued for southern DeKalb County until 5:30pm





4:21pm Update: Severe T-Storm Warning for southern Jo Daviess, western Stephenson, Carroll and Whiteside until 5:00pm.





4:12pm Update: Severe T-Storm Warning for Lee and Ogle until 5:15pm... 80mph wind gusts possible.



4:43pm Update: Multiple Tornado Warnings in effect for western Whiteside. All radar-indicated. Latest warning runs until 4:30pm.



3:40pm Update: Severe T-Storm Warning for western Whiteside until 4:15pm... 60mph wind gusts possible.



3:15pm Update: Severe T-Storm Watch now in effect for entire Stateline until 10:00pm.


 3:00pm Update: A Severe T-Storm Watch is in effect until 7:00pm for Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Carroll, and Whiteside counties.



We are currently tracking storms just off to our west in Iowa. These storms have produced several Severe T-Storm and Tornado Warnings, but it is unclear if these storms will hold together once they enter the Stateline.
