Summer-like heat may arrive just in time for the start of summer

The humidity was felt over the weekend with afternoon highs rising into the lower 80s on Saturday and upper 80s on Sunday.  Temperatures Monday will rise back into the upper 80s with a slight chance for a thunderstorm or two developing during the late afternoon and evening.  After a brief dip in the mercury Tuesday, the warmth will begin to build back in towards the end of the week.

A developing ridge of high pressure will build
across the central part of the U.S. and could very well extend this far east to the Great Lakes.  If that ridge were to form across N. Illinois and S. Wisconsin temperatures would very easily warm into the 90s...maybe flirting with the middle and upper 90s.  However, if we end up right on the edge of the ridge the heat will bubble to the south putting us in the favorable storm track for thunderstorms.  Temperatures this weekend will depend on how much cloud cover we see as well as where thunderstorms develop.  Either way, the humidity will be on the rise through Sunday.
