Widespread rain and scattered storms are expected after midnight tonight persisting through most of your Saturday. Some of the storms on Saturday could be severe. Overnight, the storms aren't expected to be severe, but during the day on Saturday in the afternoon and evening hours is when some of the storms could be severe. We aren't
expecting a widespread outbreak like we saw on Wednesday, but a handful of the storms could have high wind gusts greater than 60mph and hail larger than a quarter. As of now, the Storm Prediction Center has the entire Stateline under a "slight" risk for severe weather meaning that some severe storms are possible on Saturday:

SPC Saturday 6/15 Outlook |
A very juicy environment is in place allowing for storms to blossom relatively easy. This also means that Saturday will be really muggy. Dew points (a measure of the moisture in the atmosphere) on Saturday will be well into the 70
s.

We are also seeing high winds in the lower levels of the atmosphere bringing in plenty of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. Notice the bulls-eye for 40 kt winds right over the Iowa & Illinois border. This indicates that there could be some gusts that high or even potentially greater at ground level. These are a few of the main ingredients prompting the potential for severe weather tomorrow. We will keep you posted for severe weather as this situation develops. - MT
