Monday morning weather update - More rain on the way





(9:30:24 AM) nwsbot: Local Storm Report by NWS DVN: 1 WNW Morrison [Whiteside Co, IL] trained spotter reports HEAVY RAIN of M0.50 INCH at 08:53 AM CDT --

Flood Advisory issued for Green and Rock counties until 1pm.  Heavy rain has been falling just north of the state line near Monroe and Janesville.  Runoff from the rain may cause minor flooding in low lying areas.









Flash Flood Watches have been issued for Green, Rock, Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Carroll, Whiteside, Winnebago, Boone, Ogle, Lee and DeKalb counties until 7pm this evening.  Overnight storms will continue to weaken as they move out of Iowa and into Northern Illinois this morning, but not before additional rainfall amounts of one inch are possible with some of the heaviest rain. 

A brief break from the storms will be possible
midday with additional thunderstorm development possible this afternoon and evening.  Unfortunately, storms will continue in the forecast through Wednesday before a shift in the jet stream pattern is expected by the end of the week.
