Thursday evening:
Cold front in NW Illinois has brought a line of showers to southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. They won't last long but look for brief, heavy downpours as the line quickly passes to the east by 9pm.
Previous Update:
Low pressure system is currently tracking to the ESE through Wisconsin this morning. The heaviest of the rain will stay to the north of us in north central Wisconsin, and then moves into Michigan. However, a trailing cold front will bring rain to us in the late afternoon/early evening.
The first portion of your Thursday will be dry, with increasing cloudiness. Winds will pick up with the passage of a warm front, and will gust up to 25mph. This will help to bring a boost in temperatures this afternoon, and we will warm into the mid and upper 70's this afternoon. A stray shower is possible around 2/3pm ahead of the front but the best timing will be around 4pm-7pm tonight, with a few lingering showers through about 10pm. Instability and upper level support is fairly low today so there isn't a big thunderstorm risk, but you might hear some rumbles of thunder. Rain totals still look to amount to a quarter to a half inch of rain.
Friday will be a dry day, but also cloudy, with a thick stratus deck in place in the morning. The clouds will stick around, but look to slowly decrease through the day. Temperatures will struggle to get to 60° with the cloudy skies and northerly winds. As skies clear at night, overnight lows could then fall into the lower 40's.
