We've had a nice stretch of weather lately, but all of that will come to a halt Thursday night.
Showers, and even a couple isolated thunderstorms, rolled through northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin earlier Thursday evening. These were ahead of a fairly strong cold front that is forecast to move through early Friday morning.
Ahead of the front, high temperatures reached the middle to upper 70's. Behind the front,
temperatures haven't made it out of the 50's! As of 8pm Thursday evening, the cold front still remains near the Mississippi River. We will hold on to the 'milder' air until very early Friday morning.
With a wind shift to the North by dawn Friday, temperatures won't have much of an opportunity to warm through the afternoon. The day will also start off cloudy which will limit any possible warm up.
Get ready to grab the jackets Friday morning because you'll need them!
