Winds have been strong Sunday afternoon, peaking up to 35 mph at times. Despite the wind, however, temperatures did manage to reach the mid and upper 70's.
A bit of a 'squeeze play' has been going on over the Great Lakes and Midwest with high pressure over the Plains and low pressure over southeast Canada. The difference in pressure between the two is what is causing the stronger winds today.
Gusty winds will continue through sunset, subsiding some during the overnight. With plenty of sunshine expected Monday winds will increase again, gusting up to 25 mph during the afternoon.
