Building Weekend Heat

Temperatures are climbing into the 90s as we head towards the weekend.  The dew-point temperatures will be increasing to the upper 60's and low 70's which will bump up heat index values. At times heat index values will reach up to and maybe even over 100 degrees! Although the temperatures will not quite hit the record highs, it is still going to be a hot and muggy Father's Day weekend.

Unfortunately, there won't be much relief at night. Going into the evening, the overnight lows only fall into the low 70's. With a small amount of heat escaping throughout the night, temperatures will stay elevated into the next morning. This will only add to the effects felt from the heat this weekend. Make sure to follow heat safety tips, like drinking plenty of water, using sunscreen, and taking breaks in the air conditioning if you have to stay outside or work outside for an extended period of time.
