Winds remain breezy throughout our Friday, taking a turn to the west as our next cold front approaches. This will bring high temperatures into the low to mid 30s. Above-average yes, but today's breeze will leave wind chill values in the low 20s.
It's all downhill from there as a batch of even colder Arctic air descends into the Great Lakes. Overnight lows will fall into the low teens, only to climb into the upper teens by Saturday afternoon. Mostly of the day will be dry but cloudy, though a passing flurry or snow shower will be possible.Forecast models show another clipper system and cold front passing through Sunday. Temperatures to start will be in the single digits, climbing into the upper teens by the afternoon.
The coldest air will arrive unfortunately for Martin Luther King Jr. Day where highs will struggle to climb out of the single digits. Wind chill values during the morning could wind up as low as -20°, only to remain below zero during the afternoon. Very, very cold. If you have any plans to celebrate the holiday, pack those layers and limit time outdoors. Especially during the morning hours.
