That chill that spilled in over the weekend is expected to stick around this week with temperatures getting much much colder by the weekend.
Thankfully we begin the week on a mild note and with some sunshine. Dry air spilling into the region will keep skies partly cloudy this afternoon. That, along with a southwesterly breeze will bring highs back into the low 40s. Clouds cover will gather up tonight into Tuesday as our next pair of cold fronts approach the region from the north. This will leave us even warmer for the start of our Tuesday, with lows only falling into the low 30s.
Cloud cover stays put for much of Tuesday. Despite that, warmer winds will remain in place, pushing highs into the mid to upper 40s. Forecast models then push this pair of cold fronts through, allowing a much colder air mass to spill in overnight. This will leave overnight lows in the 20s with temperatures falling throughout the day Wednesday. From there, temperatures remain in the 20s into the second half of the work week. A weak disturbance pushing in from the northwest will bring the chance for snow showers Wednesday. Another snow chance will arrive late Thursday into Friday as we await the arrival of a second cold front. This frontal passage will bring bigger changes for the weekend, dropping highs into the upper teens/low 20s. Overnight lows will likely fall into the single-digits.
