After a mild and windy lead-up to the weekend with rain and snow chances, we will return to a more seasonable winter-like pattern next week with a few more frequent chances for light snow next week. The jet stream pattern aloft will turn to a Northwest flow which helps to promote a generally cooler pattern with occasional slim chances for light snow showers with a series of weaker "clippers".

Sunday will kick off the week on a dry note, but Monday and Tuesday may each bring us slim chances for a wintry mix or just plain snow. Monday's chance is centered mostly North of the area, while Tuesday into Wednesday will bring us a better chance for more widespread precipitation along the edge of the next larger cool-down.

Afternoon highs will push back into the 30s after Friday but still hover above average for this time of year which is closer to the upper 20s. Another drop in temperatures will follow Tuesday/Wednesday's clipper system, bringing a more seasonable if not cooler-than-average stretch heading into mid-January.
