Happy Friday! As has been the case all week, rain chances stick around for our Friday. The culprit today is a cold front draped across the Stateline.
We are already seeing plenty of activity to our northwest with Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado Warnings in parts of Iowa and Minnesota this afternoon. Here's a look at the Sioux City, IA radar at just before 4pm.
While parts of the Stateline are under a slight risk for severe weather late this afternoon and evening, don't expect any major weather events. Storms will be possible this evening west of I-39 (basically Rockford and all areas west), but it looks like the best chances for severe weather stay far to our south. A few heavy downpours are possible... maybe some wind/hail... but our best shot at severe weather came and went Thursday night.
Carroll and Whiteside are under a Flash Flood Watch through Saturday morning. Heavy downpours from tonight's storms will be brief and very localized. We'll stay with these storm chances and update you as we go through the night.
