The sunny weather from Sunday afternoon will continue for the first of this week. A ridge of high pressure in the west will keep a light westerly wind this afternoon and that, combined with mostly sunny skies, should allow temperatures to easily rise into the upper 70s. As high pressure moves into southern Illinois Tuesday winds will shift around to the southwest giving a boost in temperatures; look for highs to rise into the lower 80s. Winds will then shift around to the northeast behind a cold front late Tuesday night and Wednesday which will help produce a lake breeze off of Lake Michigan. This will cool temperatures just a bit for Wednesday; but highs will still remain above average.
Winds within the jetstream will then turn to the southwest late in the week bumping temperatures into the low to mid 80s. Enjoy!
