A new way to receive warnings will soon be in the palm of your hand this summer as the wireless industry, FCC and FEMA will begin the WEA (Wireless Emergency Alerts) system nationwide this year.
The National Weather Service will begin utilizing this by pushing extreme weather warnings over this system beginning in June. This alert system will be a little different than perhaps the current weather alerts you may receive on your phone because it just focuses on the higher end weather events. Below you will find a list of just what warnings will be sent to your phone as well as the message that will show up. Click here for more information on the Wireless Emergency Alert system
