After a few active and stormy days, the Rockford airport has recovered a bit with our rainfall outlook. We saw only 0.02" of rain after midnight, but over 2" of our monthly rain total came from Thursday and Friday. We now have about 1.6" more rain than average through the first 12 days of July, but the yearly total is still about 5.3" shy from average.

If you noticed a hazy sunset out there Saturday evening, a bit of wildfire smoke was to blame! Toda's cold front not only produced a few very isolated showers but also drew a bit of wildfire smoke Southward. This smoke will remain primarily above the surface but could cause a hazy sunrise Sunday morning.

Under an otherwise partly cloudy night, temperatures will drop to the low 60s tonight. Behind the cold front, humidity will fade away with dew points dropping closer to 60°. The lack of humidity continues into Monday, allowing for a very pleasant summer day!
