Heat and humidity quick to rise next week

Another day, another morning round of showers and thunderstorms. This round, mainly non-severe, is pushing in from the southwest and will be our best chance for additional precipitation today. A few heavy downpours cannot be ruled out.

By the afternoon, clouds will break and precipitation chances become more isolated. In fact, the any threat for heavy rain or severe weather will shift to our south closer to Saturday's cold front.

Now, factoring in the wet and cloudy start to our Sunday, temperatures will struggle to climb, landing in the upper 70s. Though cooler than the past few days, dew points will be in the upper 60s, making for a muggy end to the weekend. Thankfully, we get little relief overnight as skies turn partly cloudy, allowing temperatures to fall into the low 60s.

We can expect this dry stretch to linger into the start of next week. However, both the heat and humidity will be on the increase, leaving afternoon highs in the low 90s by Wednesday and Thursday. Humidity-wise, dew points will hover near the 70° mark Tuesday, then become even more miserable by the middle of the work week. Triple digit heat indices will be on the table Wednesday and Thursday.
