Comfortable today, thunderstorms arriving tonight and into tomorrow

Following yesterday's cooler temperatures, a slight warming trend is expected to develop as we head into the weekend with even warmer temperatures to follow next week. Luckily though, today we'll experience another day with below average temperatures offering very pleasant weather!

Our high temperature today will fall slightly below average with our high today expected to stay in the low 80's. Partly cloudy skies today will also allow for sunshine to move in while lower wind speeds thanks to high pressure will keep us calm as well.

Into the late evening tonight and into tomorrow morning though temperatures will stay a bit warmer with a warm front lifting in through the morning. As this front moves in a complex of thunderstorms from our west will be moving and will arrive around 8-10 a.m. tomorrow. Depending on how strong this initial complex is this could hinder or improve our thunderstorm chances into the evening.
This will be a changing forecast over the next 24 hours though as most of tomorrow's chances will heavily depend on the first round. If storms are a bit weaker during the morning, this will allow instability to redevelop into the evening and allow for stronger thunderstorm development. However, if the morning round is a bit slower and stronger, this could wipe out any instability into the evening helping to keep us calmer and drier.
It'll be something to keep an eye on over the next 24 hours though as the Storm Prediction Center has introduced a slight (2/5) risk for much of the Lower Great Lakes including the state line. Right now, damaging wind gusts remain the only concern with both the morning round and later evening storms if they were to develop. Things will most likely change though throughout the day.
