5 of those days wound up in the 80s. What do we have to thank for that? The blocking pattern going on aloft in the atmosphere. As the saying goes, "nothing lasts forever" and that is a good sentiment on what is going to occur in the upper levels.
The blocking ridge of high pressure will start to break down, allowing rain chances to slowly creep back into the forecast. But that isn't until the weekend so until then, we remain dry and summer-like.Aside from some patchy morning fog, today will be another sun-filled day with highs in the upper 80s. Overnight lows will continue their downward trend as temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 50s tonight under a few passing clouds. Winds will tilt more to the east for Wednesday, bringing afternoon highs down a smidge. Expect mid 80s under partly cloudy skies. Still, tomorrow's forecast high of 85° is exactly 10° below mid-September standards.
