Patchy fog overnight, warm pattern sticks around next week

After a warm afternoon in the Stateline, a few patches of fog will be possible overnight into the early hours of Sunday morning. Best chances for dense fog would be mainly Northeast of Rockford, where heaviest rain fell Saturday morning.

Much of this week ahead will feature a blocking pattern aloft. This type of "block" will feature high pressure sandwiched in between a pair of low-pressure systems. Locally, Northern Illinois will generally remain drier and warm as a result.

Higher moisture may be able to produce spotty showers and a few storms across Eastern Iowa and near the Mississippi River in NW Illinois, but along and East of I-39 looks mainly dry through at least Tuesday as a result of the blocking pattern.
