This summer-like stretch has been very consistent, especially the last 4 days where Rockford wound up with highs in the upper 80s.
Expect the same today as the combination of a light southeasterly wind and a good deal of sun will push afternoon highs back into the upper 80s. Conditions remain rather tranquil for the overnight hours, allowing temperatures to fall on either side of the 60
° mark by Friday morning.
Friday will also be well-above average with highs in the mid 80s, though we can expect clouds to increase after the midday hours. This is all thanks to a cold front that will be hugging the Illinois/Wisconsin border most of the day. There could be a few showers with the additional cloud cover, especially for those that lie close to the Mississippi.
