From the NWS Quad Cities... The excessive heat watch for Stephenson, Carroll, Jo Daviess, and Whiteside counties is now an excessive heat warning:
...A PROLONGED PERIOD OF EXCESSIVE HEAT AND HUMIDITY...
HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO SPREAD OVER THE AREA
THIS WEEKEND AND REMAIN IN PLACE THROUGH MOST OF NEXT WEEK.
TEMPERATURES IN THE 90S WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY HIGH HUMIDITY
RESULTING IN HEAT INDEX VALUES OF 100 TO 110. LITTLE RELIEF FROM
THE HEAT WILL OCCUR AT NIGHT SINCE LOW TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN
THE 70S. THE OPPRESSIVE CONDITIONS WILL DEVELOP SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 80 SATURDAY AND THEN WILL SPREAD OVER THE REST OF THE
AREA SUNDAY. THE EXCESSIVE HEAT WILL REMAIN OVER THE AREA AT
LEAST THROUGH WEDNESDAY AND COULD EXTEND INTO FRIDAY FOR ALL OR
