Great Weather for the 3rd & 4th of July
A cool front moved through the Stateline mid-day, and is now well to the southeast of the area. Slightly cooler and less humid air has overspread the northern Illinois. Ovenight temperatures will be in the low to mid 60's under mostly clear skies along with a north to northwest gentle breeze of 5 mph or less. High pressure will be in full control of our weather Sunday, and on the 4th of July. It will be mostly sunny both days with afternoon high temps on the low side of the mid 80's. On Tuesday the high will shift off to the east allowing the winds to become southerly again warming temps to the mid to high 80's, and bringing the area a chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon. The best chance of thunderstorms will be on Tuesday night when a thunderstorm complex may move across the area, possibly lingering through Wednesday morning. The rest of the week will have lots of sunshine, and comfortable afternoon temperatures in the low 80's.
