Mostly cloudy with a side of showers

9:39am Update: One thunderstorm has developed in southern Lee county near Amboy this morning and will continue to move east.  Watch for the potential for heavy rainfall with this cell as it continues across southern Lee county.

The lake breeze from yesterday afternoon has brought down a drier and more comfortable air mass this morning, but an upper level disturbance moving through the northern Plains is bringing in the cloud cover.  Dew points this morning fell into the low to mid 50s, while our neighbors across eastern Iowa felt dew points in the low to mid 60s.

The cloud cover will remain through the rest of this morning and likely into the afternoon until the disturbance moves through this evening.  Currently there are a few showers and even a couple rumbles of thunder noted across northeast Iowa and into southwest Wisconsin where the moisture is 'pooling' out ahead of the upper level trough.  This will likely sustain the showers and even thunderstorms to our west and north.  As they begin to move east the rain will encounter a drier air mass and will probably fall apart some; however the clouds will remain.  I'm going to keep an isolated shower/storm in the forecast through the day.
