Weather Update

What I'm looking for is any damage north/northwest of Rockford with this storm that moved through around noon near Durand/Lake Summerset/Shirland area. This is where the reports of damage came from. Also looking for anything near Loves Park/Rock Cut State Park. If you have anything please pass these along to: weather@wtvo.com

1:10pm Update:  There have still been no confirmed reports of a tornado or damage coming in to us as of 1pm.  The large scale set-up does not support much development for tornadoes this afternoon.  However, as the storm was moving through it was falling apart some so there could have been a period of strong wind gusts in a localized area.  Also, there was a boundary near that area so it's possible, and with all the unstable air, that a very weak tornado may have formed.  There was a very strong inflow into the storm.  We're still working to confirm things this afternoon.  The skies are beginning to clear out behind this line.

There were a few reports of wires and trees down.  There was some brief rotation with this cell so it is possible there was a very brief spin up tornado with this cell.  It had a very strong inflow into the storm and it was right along the boundary.  If you have any reports please email them to: weather@wtvo.com

*****Getting reports of possible funnel/tornado near Rock Cut State Park as those storms moved through****  Not seeing much rotation but we're working to confirm

A line of thunderstorms extends from South Beloit to Winnebago and is moving east at 45 mph.  Hail pea to nickel sized, gusty winds and heavy downpours could be possible.
