Thanks to the cloud cover that dominated for much of the day today, we're a little to stable for big, heavy-rain-producing thunderstorms in my opinion. We did see a few storms fire in Iowa earlier this evening, only to see them fizzle in the more stable atmosphere almost as soon as they developed.
On the other hand, a few storms that are developing right now in the Madison area ahead of an approaching cold front could be indicative of storms pushing into the area later tonight. So although our chances of heavy rain are waning somewhat, we're not completely in the clear just yet. We will continue to watch things!
