Monday Morning Weather Update

(8:54:56 AM) nwsbot: MKX cancels Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Dane, Dodge, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Kenosha, Lafayette, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Rock, Walworth, Washington, Waukesha [WI]

8:10am Update:  The line of severe storms that produced significant damage this morning is now moving out of our area.  There have been numerous reports of trees and power lines down.  More storm development could be possible  later this afternoon, especially if we clear out enough.

7:40am Update:  The worst of the severe weather has now passed the Rockford metro area, but not before producing significant wind damage across the area. (See most recent report of storm reports).  The strongest of the storm is now moving into McHenry county as well as Walworth county and could produce wind gusts up to 75 mph.  This is a very dangerous line of storms.  The southern edge of the line is now moving through DeKalb county.

A line of severe thunderstorms continue to move through Rockford at this time.  Severe Thunderstorm Warnings continue for Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Ogle, Lee and DeKalb counties until 8am.

Numerous wind damage reports coming out from these line of storms as they move across southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.  Wind gusts nearing 60 to 75 mph have been reported across northwest Illinois.  This is a very dangerous line of storms.

Strongest of the storms now moving through Janesville, Beloit and just east of Rockford
