Sunny skies are always nice, but it's good to add in a little rain too. You may have noticed that it's been running a little dry for the past week and it doesn't appear as if we'll pick up on much measurable rainfall the remainder of this week.
The month of June was warm, but dry. Overall we ended up with 3.44" of rain, but that was almost 1.4" below where we should have been. Now in July, even though we're only on the 5th day, we haven't seen a drop in the bucket, putting us at a deficit a little over half an inch. While there will be a chance for a few showers and storms late this evening and overnight it really doesn't look like it's going to amount to much. Maybe a quarter inch or so. If we don't see any rainfall tonight we'll have to wait until the end of this weekend for some rain -and even that doesn't look all that impressive. Guess it's time to start doing the rain dance.
