Temperatures have been riding a little above average and it appears as if that's where they'll stay for the next week or so. Highs the next couple of days will be in the upper 80s before we cool back into the low 80s by Thursday and Friday; but looking further into next week a persistent ridge will remain in the south and keep the jet stream to our north. This will allow for temperatures to sit above average (our average high should be right around 83°) through next week and maybe even beyond.
As far as rain goes, with the jet stream to our north it means that the main storm track will also reside to our north. This will keep weak disturbances moving through but as far as any major systems within the next week, I don't forsee that any time soon. Even though we like to have rain free days, it is starting to get a little dry around the area. We ended the month of June about 1.4" below our average montly rainfall and so far in July we haven't seen a drop. Just like Luke Bryan said: "Rain is a good thing" :)
