No major storms are anticipated over the next several days. There is a weak disturbance over southern Minnesota and northern Iowa early tonight moving eastward toward the Stateline. To the east of the disturbance a northwesterly air flow persists. Scattered showers have broken out from south of Duluth Minnesota across northwestern Wisconsin, southeastern Minnesota, western and southwestern Wisconsin, northeastern Iowa across southwestern Wisconsin into northwestern and north central Illinois. All of this activity is moving toward the southeast. It is quite scattered and light in intensity for the most part. Only 2 thunderstorms have be noted in all of this activity. One is just to the southwest of Rochester Minnesota, and the second and most intense was in north central Iowa to the west of Interstate 35 near Mason City, and it was dropping some hail up to 0.88" in size. So, the Stateline can expect scattered showers to continue overnight with a slight chance of a thunderstorm between 1 am and 6 am. The overnight low will be around 58 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.
The mostly cloudy skies will continue on Monday as a dissipating cool front over northwestern Wisconsin into northwestern Iowa falls apart during the day. Chances of showers will continue, and there could be a couple of stray thunderstorms during then afternoon. Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 10 mph, and the high will be in the upper 70's High pressure will make an attempt to take over on Monday night. It will be partly cloudy, and a little cooler with a low in the middle 50's.
It will be mostly sunny and very nice on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. High pressure will dominate as it moves slowly into the area from the northwest. High temperatures will be in the middle 70's and lows will be in the middle 50's.
Early Friday high pressure will be centered just south of Chicago. It will be another mostly sunny to sunny day. It will be warmer as winds shift to the south during the day with an afternoon high in the low 80's.
Skies will become partly cloudy on Saturday with southerly breezes continuing. There could be some scattered showers and thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon and Saturday night as a warm front approaches from the southwest. The high on Saturday will be in the middle 80's.
On Sunday the warm front will pass off to the north of the Stateline into Wisconsin. It will be mostly sunny, hot, and becoming humid. The afternoon high will be around 90 degrees.
