Clouds clear as sun sets Monday evening

It was another cloudy, breezy, and cold late Fall afternoon as temperatures only warmed to the mid-20s. An upper-level disturbance passing through the Midwest was responsible for the cloud cover and flurries/light snow this afternoon, but sinking air moving into Wisconsin has allowed skies to clear.

This will lead to a mostly clear sky for a time Monday evening before cloud cover moves back in, turning skies partly cloudy Tuesday morning. Overnight lows will fall into the teens with wind chills in the single digits. Under a partly cloudy sky Tuesday afternoon temperatures will warm into the upper 20s and low 30s, still a bit below average but slightly warmer than where we've been the last several days. Cloud cover does increase, though, with the return of warmer air Tuesday night. This *could* lead to some drizzle Tuesday night. If so, we'd have to watch out for the potential of freezing drizzle heading into Wednesday morning due to cold surface and road temperatures. The chance right now is low for that to occur, but it is a possibility.

Temperatures will continue to warm Wednesday with highs rising into the upper 30s during the afternoon. A heat wave! A series of cold fronts, however, will push temperatures quickly into the teens Wednesday evening with a few wind-whipped snow flurries/showers throughout the evening.
