Cold, breezy, and dry conditions have been the main story the past few days for many across the state line. Besides some passing flurries early Friday morning the weather has been "boring" in the eyes of the meteorologist but boring is often a good thing! We've been trapped in the 20's the majority of the past few days and expect that to continue into next week.Today will be much of the same as temperatures won't come close to the 30-degree mark so make sure to layer up once again if you're heading out this morning! The good news is the moisture content in the atmosphere won't be as high today, so we'll actually see much of the day with plenty of sunshine! This won't improve temperatures all too much, but it will help conditions feel a little warmer today.
To start the week this week much of the same will be sticking around as a quick instance of high pressure will stick around Monday night into Tuesday morning. Before that though, a few snow flurries will remain possible Monday as a low-pressure system to our northeast will bring in enough forcing to help any moisture in the atmosphere to get its act going. Don't expect much to any accumulation out of any snow shower as snow will remain light and won't fall at a fast rate. Our only chance for any possible meaningful snowfall or precipitation will come Wednesday. A potent shortwave trough or area of extra lift is expected to move southward from Canada overhead Tuesday night into Wednesday. When this occurs good moisture for this time of year will be around however our precipitation hances rely heavily on where the best forcing sets up. Near the low-pressure center to our east over the Great Lakes seems to have the highest chance for the best forcing for this system which would keep our chances low. But still with good moisture around there still remains a chance. With any precipitation that does move through different times of the day may offer different forms so be on the lookout for rain and snow Wednesday depending on our surface temperatures. Beyond that though temperatures look to remain cooler than average moving into next week. Although we may not be in the 20's, temperatures look to improve a little bit in the long range back up to low 30's which is more common for this time in Early December.
