Weekend cold front spawns a few showers, then cool-down for Mother's Day

Mother's Day weekend will feature a few showers along a cold front Saturday, followed by a drop in temperatures Sunday. Afternoon highs will reach the low 70s Saturday, then low 60s Sunday behind the front. A few stray showers may be possible Saturday afternoon along that front, but the rest of the weekend will be dry.

The cold front will dive through the Stateline during the afternoon of Saturday, producing some light showers mainly between 2-6PM. There is still some drier near and above the surface that will look to limit overall rainfall, but a few brief pockets of light rain may be possible during that time. Conditions will dry out after 7PM, resulting in a mainly clear sky by late evening.

Saturday's cold front will also produce a round of stronger winds, with gusts approaching 25-30 mph at times through the afternoon. Initially winds will come out of the West, then flip to Northwest behind the cold front. That will also work to bring the drop in temperatures through the evening as overnight lows dip to the low 40s.
