Strong west winds Tuesday afternoon and evening have produced near whiteout conditions in many open and rural areas due to blowing snow. North/South roads are mostly impacted, but there are some East/West roads that will experience the blowing snow as well.
Wind gusts Tuesday afternoon have been as high as 30mph, whipping around the freshly fallen snow from Monday morning. Drifting snow will also be a threat, especially in the North lanes. Slick roads will be possible both Tuesday night and Wednesday morning as gusty winds are expected to remain through mid-morning Wednesday.
