Another round of light accumulating snow will be possible late Friday afternoon and evening as a fast moving clipper system moves southeast out of the Plains. This low will track from the Dakotas into Iowa by Friday morning before moving into west-central Illinois Friday night. This particular track would allow a swath of accumulating snow to develop from Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri and Illinois.
Moisture in the atmosphere remains limited under drier air from the northwest, but a quick inch, possibly two, will be possible for parts of the area. Most favored regions right now look to be over northwest Illinois - Jo Daviess, western Stephenson, Carroll, Whiteside, southern Ogle and Lee counties. With the light snow developing late in the evening, there could be some issues with the evening commute.
