A strong Arctic cold front will move through southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois Thursday afternoon bringing temperatures down as cold as -12 degrees by Friday morning. Wind chills, however, could fall as low as -30 degrees for some by Friday morning. With wind chills this cold, frostbite could occur in less than 30 minutes to any exposed skin.
A Wind Chill Watch has been issued for all of
northern Illinois beginning late Thursday evening and lasting through Noon Friday. Wind chills will remain below zero throughout the day Friday as high temperatures struggle to make it above 0 degrees during the afternoon.
