But as that popular saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Thursday features more in the way of cloud cover as a storm system slides to our south and then into the Ohio Valley region. What’s more, showers are likely to tag along for the ride and stick around for a good chunk of the day.
While its safe to say you won't need your Umbrella for the start of the day, I would have them packed away for this afternoon and evening. Adding in a little atmospheric energy does bring the potential for an isolated thunderstorm or two. While severe weather is not expected, a few rumbles of thunder, heavy downpours, and even small hail will be possible with the strongest updrafts. Expect rain chances to carry on well into the evening hours, before finally shutting off after midnight.
Its when the faucet shuts off that our attention will then to an increasing northwest wind.
The strongest winds will arrive between 10AM-4PM, with gusts ranging from 35-40mph. With these being out of the northwest, expect temperatures to struggle either struggle or barely touch 60°.
Despite Friday's blustery outlook, we do see quick improvements in the cloud cover department. Skies will turn sunnier by Friday afternoon. After today's rainfall, it won't be until late Monday into Tuesday where rain and even thunderstorm chances return to the Stateline. Expect highs to reach the 70s during this stretch, with the warmest afternoon highs being felt Sunday afternoon!
