Winds ease following cold front Monday evening

An incoming cold front and high-pressure Monday evening will not only shift our southwest wind to the west, but also help winds ease a bit through the night. Southwest winds have been gusting 25-30 mph for most of Monday afternoon but will quickly diminish as the sun sets.

Temperatures Monday warmed into the upper 60s, to near 70 degrees for most, but cooler conditions have been found to the northwest as both cloud cover and a slightly cooler air mass remains over the Upper Midwest.

Temperatures Monday night will fall into the mid-40s which is a bit cooler, but closer to average, from where temperatures have been the last few nights. Winds will turn back to the southwest Tuesday bringing afternoon temperatures into the low to mid 70s.
