Near-normal Temperatures for U.S. in May
According to NOAA (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association), temperatures for the month of May were 0.2 degrees Farenheit below the 1901-2000 long-term average for the United states as a whole. The warmest weather was in the Northeastern US while the coolest weather was found in the northern Rockies. Rhode Island had its 2nd warmest May on record, while Idaho had its 2nd coolest. Illinois experienced it's 35th warmest may out of 116 on record. Rockford's temperature was 2.0F above the long-term average for the 5th month, consistant with the state-wide trend. --TS
