8:40am Update - We will have a conference call with the National Weather Service in Chicago about the severe potential later this afternoon/evening.  Details will follow...

Skies are beginning to clear after this mornings convection and that could potentially lead to some stronger storms later this afternoon/evening.  The Storm Prediction Center has added a moderate risk for this afternoon across parts of west-central Illinois, southern Iowa and northern Missouri and this does include parts of the viewing area.  Storms firing now across northeast Nebraska and Iowa are developing along a cold front that will sweep through later today.  As it does storms will continue to develop along and ahead of the front with storms moving in later this afternoon and evening.  Damaging winds will be likely with some of the storms as they move through.  We'll continue to monitor things and give another update later this morning.
