What Does the Weekend Hold....

....good question!  Our next system is currently working through the Rockies and Plains as a trough of low pressure digs out in the west.  While most of the day should remain dry through the afternoon, clouds will continue to thicken with temperatures remaining a few degrees cooler than where we were Wednesday.  Storms are currently moving into Iowa this morning but I think should miss us to the north, although a stray shower can't be ruled out to the north and west.  A warm front will lift north tonight and into Wisconsin by Friday afternoon.  As it does, a lot of the weather computer guidance is pointing to a thunderstorm complex developing in the northern Plains and moving into Wisconsin by Friday morning.  This is where the forecast gets a little tricky.  If there are storms currently ongoing we may actually end up being a little more cloudy Friday than first thought.  If that's the case highs on Friday may have to be dropped a bit.  However, one thing will be certain is the humidity will creep up tonight and tomorrow.  If we do get some sunshine Friday instability values will rise some and we could get a few storms to pop later in the day.  But I think the atmosphere may be capped so it could end up being dry.  Our attention will then turn to the timing of the cold front for the weekend.  Some models are bringing it through earlier Saturday which would increase our storm chance and keep us dry for Sunday, but some are bringing the front through late Saturday which would make Saturday equally as warm and keep a better chance for storms on Sunday.  For now, I'm going to split the weekend 50/50 and hopefully narrow things down tonight and tomorrow.
