We had a little taste of summer heat this past weekend and it looks like that heat could be returning for this upcoming weekend.
High pressure will be in control for the next several days keeping our skies clear and temperatures very comfortable. By the end of the week, that high pressure will move into the southeast shifting surface winds around to the south and southwest late in the week and weekend. A cool front will move through southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois late Thursday evening and Friday afternoon. This will bring a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms during the day Friday. Low pressure developing over the Plains will pull the front back north as a warm front during the day Saturday. An isolated thunderstorm is possible with the passage of the front Saturday, but it looks like most of the weekend will remain dry.
Southwest winds will increase Sunday pushing highs near 90 degrees for the afternoon. Looking beyond the 7-day and it appears as if the heat may continue through at least Tuesday of next week, possibly giving us a little stretch of near 90 degree weather. Humidity will also be on the climb with dew point temperatures warming into the mid 60's.
