Snow showers, slick spots likely Wednesday

2025 has been a great year for snowfall, that is if you live outside of the Stateline.

The latest example is the record-breaking snow that fell across the deep south yesterday. Beaumont, TX, Lake Charles, LA, and even New Orleans, LA all saw their snowfall records shattered and has now seen more snow than Rockford this year.

This begs the question, when will the Stateline see it's next chance for snow? As a matter of fact, today. But just like the previous opportunities, today's snow isn't something for snow-lovers to get excited about. A glance at morning radar shows flurries and light snow falling across eastern and southeastern Iowa as well as in portions of southwest Wisconsin.

Eventually, this will make its way east across the Mississippi River, likely elevating the concern for slick spots by the mid morning hours. There may be a lull in our snow chances this afternoon before they increase this evening into tonight. Snowfall rates at times this morning and this evening could be as high as 1/4" per hour. In the end, most locales could pick up .5" to 1.5" of snow. Again, nothing to be excited about if you are a snow-lover.

Any chance for snow should wrap up during the first couple of hours of Thursday, allowing some clearing to take place shortly afterward.

This will leave our skies sun-filled for Thursday, though northwest winds take over. Temperatures will struggle to climb out of the teens, likely falling into the single digits overnight.
