Multiple rounds of snow possible starting Friday evening

We've got multiple rounds of snow to talk about over the next 72 hours, so let's break it down:

Round 1 comes Friday evening in the form of a window of moderate/heavy snow between 5-9PM. A quick 2-3" of snow may fall within a few hours, limiting visibility, quickly coating roads, and deteriorating travel conditions. Be sure to allow extra travel time for this evening!

Round 2 will be more of a lull in precipitation rates after 9/10PM, with potential for freezing drizzle and snow flurries. We may see a few bursts of light or steady snow, with up to 1" additional accumulation expected in this window through Saturday morning.

Round 3 has the most uncertainty at this time. We *could* see more bands of accumulating snow develop Saturday across portions of the area starting mid-day and last into the evening. Where these bands set up, a few additional inches of snow may be possible. Flurries may cont. into Sunday.

Much colder weather will follow, with afternoon highs down in the single digits and lows well below zero many days next week. Wind chills will likely remain below zero from Sunday evening through at least Wednesday, with minimum chills down near -20° possible.
