As of 4:30AM, most of our counties are reporting partially covered roadways with the exception of Carroll County. Be on the lookout for slick spots during the morning commute.
Thursday begins on a mostly cloudy note, though a punch of dry air should allow skies to clear into the afternoon. Along with the additional sunshine will be an increasing west-northwest wind, with could gust as high as 35-40 mph. Temperatures will be a tad warmer than Wednesday afternoon, peaking in the upper 30s, close to the 40° mark. Winds will remain breezy for the first half of the night, easing up a bit as we go into Friday morning.
Moisture streaming in will allow clouds to gather up before mid-morning Friday. This will likely leave us mostly cloudy for the afternoon. Winds will be more out of the northwest following a cold front from overnight, limiting highs to near 30°.
The focus will then turn to a storm system that looks to take a similar track to the latest one, placing the rain and snow line close by again. There may be a slightly cooler pattern aloft allowing for more snow compared to freezing rain but expect a wintry mix with slick spots possible on Saturday.
