Wednesday Morning Weather: Stronger storms moving through


10:05 am Update: The strong storms from this morning are now over Michigan with just a few lighter showers dotting the skies.  The 'atmospheric river' remains wide open as moisture continues to stream through Missouri and Iowa.  As low pressure moves closer tonight rain coverage/intensity should begin to pick up this evening and continue into the early overnight.















Strong thunderstorm wind gusts earlier this morning near 50 mph (maybe higher) moved right over I-39 in Ogle county overturning multiple semi tractor trailer.  Southbound I-39 is closed from Rt. 64 southward.

A line of strong thunderstorms are moving through from Cherry Valley south to Paw Paw this morning.  Hail, pea to nickel sized, very heavy rain, wind gusts nearing 50 mph and frequent lightning have all been reported with this line.  It's currently moving to the east/northeast around 50 mph.  This storm will quickly move east with additional, non-severe, thunderstorms this morning.
