Cool and damp start to the weekend

Aside from the wind, the past two days have been comfortable and enjoyable. One obstacle that is stopping the Stateline from seeing a third enjoyable day is our next frontal passage.

Moisture out ahead of this front will contribute to the likelihood for one and off showers. Even an isolated afternoon thunderstorm or two cannot be ruled out as the cold front itself is sliding through. All in all, I would plan on having the umbrella on hand if you have plans to be somewhere outside.

Totals for all locales should end up under .25". After a cool and damp start to the weekend, our weather pattern dries out for Sunday. Winds will turn breezy out of the west-northwest once again, leaving high temperatures in the upper 70s.

Cold air sinking down into the Great Lakes will leave temperatures cool in the low 70s Monday. However, a warming trend will occur next week thanks to a much warmer airmass being released from the heat dome that is consuming the western U.S.

Temperatures are expected to climb back into the low 80s by Wednesday, then warm near the 90-degree mark by Thursday and the weekend.
